Biography
Prior to teaching, Lucas worked in industry for 15 years, primarily as a full stack software engineer, developing distributed, mobile, and cloud applications. His pedagogical philosophy consists of engaging students in challenging, worthwhile ideas, which emphasize student-teacher relationships, multiple sources of knowledge, the value of bridging theory and practice, and the importance of collaborative learning. His research interests focus on software engineering; specifically, development methodologies, information systems, software testing and verification methods, and software engineering education.
