Jennifer Zaur, MA
Program Chair
Biography
Jennifer Zaur is the program chair for the Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Arizona Global Campus. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in language and literacy, both from Arizona State University. Prior to joining UAGC full-time in 2012, she taught 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade in Mesa, Arizona, served as a reading interventionist, mentored new teachers, and facilitated professional development workshops. One of Jennifer’s areas of passion is curriculum development as she loves to put together the pieces of the puzzle that allow her students to learn the required skills and knowledge in a meaningful and engaging manner. She believes that daily reflection is essential for a teacher to be able to evaluate his or her effectiveness and better meet the needs of students. “It is not until your students know that you care about them that they will care how much you know.” She is thrilled to be a part of the University of Arizona Global Campus team and advises students to ask for help, communicate often with their instructors, and keep a calendar of due dates for each class. “The University of Arizona Global Campus has created an amazing online community where students can receive a quality education from talented educators. Students are part of a community of learners who are seeking knowledge to become the best they can be in their field. They form relationships not only with classmates, but with instructors who are dedicated to seeing them be successful.” Ms. Zaur lives in Gilbert, Ariz., with her husband and their four children.
