Biography

Dr. Gayle D. Jones is an Associate Professor in the Master of Public Health program. She obtained a Ph.D. in Community Health from Walden University, Master of Public Health in Health Administration from the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Carolina Aiken. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Dr. Jones has taught public health in an online environment for over 10 years.

Dr. Jones is a public health professional with over 10 years of experience in health education, health policy, health administration, and community health. She focuses her research on maternal and child health, health literacy, and health policy. As a public health professional, Dr. Jones has worked on the local, regional, and state levels and collaborated with numerous community-based, state, and federal organizations to advance the mission of public health and improve health outcomes in diverse populations. She is also a member of the American Public Health Association (APHA).

Dr. Jones resides in South Carolina and enjoys reading, nature walks, and baking. Her guidance to students is “know that everything you do matters, so do it well.”

Her favorite quote is by Eleanor Roosevelt: “It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself.”
